Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing

When Europeans first settled in Western Canada, they soon discovered the hardship of trekking across the unforgiving winter landscape. Snowshoes offered a welcome alternative — less tiring and a faster way of getting around. Today, snowshoeing is still one of the quickest (and most fun) ways to travel on foot in Banff – and it is incredibly easy to get the hang of. Take your pick between a daily tours to the Paint Pots in Yoho National Park, British Columbia and learn all about Banff’s indigenous people, explorers and fur traders or join a weekend expeditions to Marble Canyon, a 40-metre deep limestone gorge. Warm up with hot chocolate and a delicious maple taffy, made fresh in the snow by your guide. Guided tours on the Great Divide at Sunshine Village also Available.
