    What to Expect

    Well-behaved pups are welcome on level seven of our hotel for a daily fee of $60 (plus taxes) per dog, with an additional $20 (plus taxes) charge for a second dog (maximum two dogs per room). You’ll find a dog bed, water bowl, dog bags, and a biscuit in your room. With an entire floor of dedicated pet-friendly accommodations, discover a variety of rooms to stay and play in.

    Doggy Paddle

    Cool down from a warm summer hike and explore the beauty of Banff from the water with a dip or paddle in any of the area’s stunning turquoise lakes. Rent a canoe, kayak, or SUP from the Banff Canoe Club or the Adventure Hub and take Fido on an aquatic adventure.

    Pet-Friendly Shopping

    The Rimrock Resort Hotel isn’t the only local pet-friendly business. Throughout Banff, you’ll find plenty of dog-friendly shops, designated with a window sticker and welcoming dog bowls at the door. Take on the town side by side and even commemorate your vacation together with a souvenir from Banff Doghouse.

    On-Leash Trails

    Positioned perfectly within Banff National Park, our resort is close to plenty of on-leash walking trails for you and your dog to enjoy. Ask our concierge for directions to trailheads and checkout Parks Canada to see if there are any trail restrictions for dogs based on wildlife, natural hazards, or seasonal concerns.

    Off-Leash Parks

    Banff offers plenty of opportunities for your pup to play, including two designated off-leash dog parks. Accessible by foot or vehicle with on-site parking, find one in the Industrial District and the other near the Recreation Grounds. Ask our Concierge for directions, and click the link below for more information.

Additional Important Pet Information

  • Pets must always be supervised and on a leash in public areas. Pets are not permitted in hotel restaurants or aquatic facilities. 
  • Should a pet’s behavior cause disruption and we are unable to contact the guest after reasonable attempts, the pet will be safely removed from the guest room by hotel staff.
  • Dog-friendly rooms are subject to availability, and we encourage you to contact our reservations department directly at 1-888-Rimrock (746-7625) to secure your room.
  • Although we will do our best to accommodate all requests, the Hotel reserves the right to decline dog stays for rooms that are not pre-arranged, should there be no available rooms.
  • In consideration of guests with allergies, any dogs found in a non-dog room (not on the seventh floor), will result in a $250 allergenic cleaning fee.
  • For the safety of your pets and the local wildlife, dogs must be on leash in Banff National Park and within the Town of Banff.
  • Service dogs are always welcome at no charge in our guestrooms, public spaces, and restaurants.
